You linger where the cold resides
this is sorrow's place
vacant for your time being
here where the shadows sleep
the dark and cold intertwine
your shallow breath, a chorus for this eternal silence
loneliness set the rendezvous
your dampened bed
blankets holding you tight
rays of sunlight peak through the dust coated curtains
in hopes of seeing the stranger's face
it's been all too long since you've found reason to leave your room
these walls know the stories
the dark, would-be forgotten memories
the diary without words
will they ever see another smile?

You call it insanity
It’s her only sense of control
Stomachs grow smaller
As egos explode
Pleasure is now looked at as a simple number
That decides it all
Weakened by the strength itself
Bone becomes frail
Skin shivers
Can’t fight off the cold
Watch her hide the pain
Behind the smile that she so painfully holds
And she’ll keep working
Past her breaking point
But this control lead to pride
A power too great to avoid
Addicted to the way dropping numbers
Leave empty smiles on her face
And as a shrinking stomach
Produces a thinner waist
The only messages she gets out of the world
Is look like this, be beautiful
She’ll leave her so self so screwed up
So destroyed, too thin to live
All just to become somebody she’s not
To be accepted in your eyes
All because she couldn’t be told
She was perfect just the way she was
It’s her only sense of control
Stomachs grow smaller
As egos explode
Pleasure is now looked at as a simple number
That decides it all
Weakened by the strength itself
Bone becomes frail
Skin shivers
Can’t fight off the cold
Watch her hide the pain
Behind the smile that she so painfully holds
And she’ll keep working
Past her breaking point
But this control lead to pride
A power too great to avoid
Addicted to the way dropping numbers
Leave empty smiles on her face
And as a shrinking stomach
Produces a thinner waist
The only messages she gets out of the world
Is look like this, be beautiful
She’ll leave her so self so screwed up
So destroyed, too thin to live
All just to become somebody she’s not
To be accepted in your eyes
All because she couldn’t be told
She was perfect just the way she was
